Leadership Series Session 4 | State of Education: A Call to Action (virtual)

Education has always been a foundational pillar of civic life, as well as a lightning rod for public debate. In the fourth session of our 2025-26 LGC Leadership Series, State of Education: A Call to Action, we will examine the pressing challenges that impact educational equity today, including disparities in funding, access, and resources, as well as innovative efforts to address these issues head-on.

Convene with us virtually on Tuesday, February 24 from 12PM to 1PM for a dynamic conversation with cross-sector leaders, including:

  • MODERATOR BETH SWANSON (LGC Fellow since 2006) – Chief Executive Officer at A Better Chicago
  • DANIEL ANELLO (LGC Fellow since 2019) – Chief Executive Officer at Kids First Chicago
  • ARNE DUNCAN (LGC Fellow since 1995) – Managing Partner at Emerson Collective (Former US Secretary of Education)
  • MACQULINE KING – Interim CEO/Superintendent at Chicago Public Schools

Join us to gain a clear understanding of where we stand today, explore inspiring initiatives that are making a difference, and discover opportunities to support and accelerate progress – because building a better future through education requires all of us to lean in and act together.
