LGC Day of Giving

What is Day of Giving?
A 24-hour inspiring and highly digital event for Fellows, sponsors and friends to come together to support LGC and commemorate the 35^th anniversary of our founding with a tax-deductible gift. Beginning at 8 a.m. CDT on October 13, 2018, the LGC Family will have the opportunity to give back and pay forward our mission to effect transformative civic impact across the Greater Chicago Region. Our goal is to raise $35,000 – a nod to our 35^th anniversary – in 24 hours. 
 

How can I participate?

1. Visit lgcchicago.org/dayofgiving on October 13, 2018.
2. Make your gift online.
3. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn for updates!
4. Share messaging on your social media channels using #LGCTurns35 and #LeadGreat. See template messages in the Social Media Resources section below.
    

How will my gift be used?
Gifts made on Day of Giving will allow LGC to allocate resources where the need is greatest, such as:

• ensuring the participation of non-corporate sector Fellows in our classroom each year,
• investing in new curriculum to enhance and enrich our Signature Fellows Program, like the introduction of Human-Centered Design in our 2019 Program,
• providing captioning and other accessibility resources at our events to ensure the full participation of all Fellows and guests,
• developing ongoing programs for all Fellows, including our Leadership Breakfast Series and Leadership Action Network (LAN) initiative,
• supporting our participation in public forums on key social issues with partners like Northwestern University and the Chicago Humanities Festival, and
• producing podcast sessions to share stories of impact.

Is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes! Leadership Greater Chicago is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so your gifts are tax-deductible. Please retain your email receipt for tax purposes. Our tax ID number is 36-3293207.
 

Will I receive a receipt?
Absolutely! After you make your gift, you will receive a confirmation email that can be used for tax purposes.
 

My employer offers a gift matching program. Are gifts on Day of Giving eligible?
Definitely! You will receive an email confirmation of your gift that can be used for tax and gift matching purposes.
 

Can I make a monthly gift?
Yes. Monthly giving is an easy, automatic way to support Leadership Greater Chicago It is convenient, environmentally friendly, and helps ensure a steady source of funding for LGC.

You can set up your monthly gift by credit card on our website. All recurring gifts set up on Day of Giving will count as a pledge towards our Day of Giving totals - i.e. if you set up a monthly gift of $84 for the next year, we will count your $1,000 pledge towards our totals for the day.
