Leadership Breakfast: DACA, Immigration Reform, and The Second City as Sanctuary City
In September, Chicago won a lawsuit challenging the Trump Administration’s restrictions on federal funding for “sanctuary cities,” a ruling that carried with it a national injunction and implications for cities, counties, and states across the country. Join us as a panel of experts, activists, and immigrants reflect on this ruling and what it means for Chicago and our immigrant population, as well as developments around DACA and the most recent travel ban. Moderated by Clarisol Duque (Fellow since 2017), Chicago Chief of Staff/Director, Office of U.S. Senator Dick Durbin.

Leadership Breakfast: Changing the System | Criminal Justice in Cook County
Since her election last November, Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx (Fellow since 2009) has been working to bring change and innovation to the country’s second largest prosecutor’s office, representing over five million residents. Join us for an unplugged conversation about the challenges and opportunities the county faces in areas such as bail reform, mass incarceration, and public safety.
