FIRSTHAND: Gun Violence Screening and Discussion | In Partnership with WTTW
Discounted tickets of $5 each are available to LGC Fellows and friends using promo code: LGCFIRSTHAND
The number of victims of Chicago’s gun violence may fluctuate, but the psychological trauma in many neighborhoods is constant. How do wounded communities heal?
Join us on Wednesday, December 4, as we proudly partner with WTTW to host a screening and discussion of the station's new documentary series FIRSTHAND: Gun Violence, which explores the personal, firsthand perspectives of people whose lives have been affected by gun violence in Chicago.
WTTW News and Chicago Tonight Correspondent Brandis Friedman will moderate the post-screening discussion with two participants from FIRSTHAND – READI Chicago outreach worker Reality Allah and Community Policing Sergeant in the Austin 15th District Jermaine Harris – as well as WTTW producer/director Dan Protess and WTTW | WFMT President & CEO Sandra Cordova Micek (2019 Daniel Burnham Fellow). Audience Q&A will follow.
The screening will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. The program will end at 7:30 p.m. Click the green button above to purchase tickets. To learn more, click here.
Please note there are no physical tickets. Your online confirmation will grant you entrance to the event, and we will have your name and number of seat reservations on a door list upon your arrival.
