LGC All Hands on Deck Leadership Series | The New Innovators
Open to Fellows, the LGC Class of 2023 and All Hands on Deck Partners only. (All Hands on Deck Partners and the Class of 2023 are pre-registered for each session in this series and not required to register here.)
Once again, we will end our series with the production of The New Innovators. This virtual program will feature a short film on four Fellow-led initiatives tackling the urgent issues of this past year. Nine Fellows sit down with us to explain the challenges they faced and the courage, creativity and collaboration they embraced to rethink solutions to diversity in board recruitment, workforce development, immigration and public safety.
The Fellows who will be featured include:
- Vaughn Bryant (LGC Fellow since 2016)
Executive Director, Metropolitan Peace Initiatives - Adela Cepeda (LGC Fellow since 1993)
Director, BMO Financial Corporation, and Board Chair, Angeles Investors - Kirstin Chernawsky (LGC Fellow since 2019)
Associate Secretary of Early Childhood, Family and Community, Illinois Department of Human Services - Christa Hamilton (LGC Fellow since 2020)
President and CEO, UCAN - Rhonda Hopps (LGC Fellow since 1998)
Executive Director, Comer Education Campus - Mark Ishaug (Daniel Burnham Fellow)

WBEZ Chief Content Officer Tracy Brown (Daniel Burnham Fellow), will moderate this showcase of change makers and problem solvers who are putting civic leadership into action. At the end of the program, Fellows and All Hands on Deck Partners will have the opportunity to choose an initiative and engage in a small group discussion with the Fellows who led that work.
