Leadership Greater Chicago Elects
New Board Members
CHICAGO, IL (December 4, 2020) – Leadership Greater Chicago, the region's premier civic leadership development organization, announces the election of two leading Chicago executives as new members of its Board of Directors: Tracie Morris (Daniel Burnham Fellow), SVP, U.S. Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Inclusion Officer for BMO Financial Group, and Matthew L. Primack PT, DPT, MBA (LGC Fellow since 2016 and Daniel Burnham Fellow), President of Advocate Condell Medical Center – Advocate Aurora Health. The election of these new board members underscores the commitment by LGC to build and strengthen the pipeline of civic leaders who will shape the future of Chicago and the region.
“We are honored to have Tracie and Matt join the LGC Board of Directors. Both leaders bring extensive experience and diversity of skills to the stewardship of advancing our mission and our impact in the region,” said LGC Board President Connie Lindsey, Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate Social Responsibility and Global Diversity & Inclusion at Northern Trust.
At BMO Financial Group, Tracie oversees strategic and operational governance, executes enterprise HR priorities in the U.S., and leads Diversity & Inclusion initiatives. Additionally, Tracie has a leadership role with the Human Resources Committee of the BMO Financial Corp Board of Directors and the Benefits Investment Committee, and chairs the U.S. Compensation Oversight Committee and the U.S. Benefits Administration Committee. Previously she was a 17-year veteran of Exelon leading cultural transformations, workforce planning, and talent acquisition.
Matt is President at Condell Medical Center – Advocate Aurora Health, the largest and only Trauma 1 medical center in Lake County. Matt is responsible for local market oversight focusing on transformational health models, as well as system-wide initiatives such as trauma recovery services, workforce initiatives, and operational efficiency efforts. Previously he served as President of Advocate Christ Medical Center.
“As Fellows of LGC, Tracie and Matt are deeply committed to civic leadership and shaping a future for Chicago that benefits the sum of all of us,” said Maria Wynne, LGC Chief Executive Officer and Founding Daniel Burnham Fellow. “We are fortunate to have them join the board as we continue to deliver the knowledge and network necessary to lead bold, transformative change across the region.”
Since its founding in 1983 by The Chicago Community Trust, LGC has developed more than 1,200 leaders through its Signature Fellows Program – an intensive 10-month exploration of current socioeconomic issues that provides the foundation for a lifelong commitment to civic engagement. Fellows learn from a diversity of opinions, styles, and world views, and develop the capacity to approach and break down complex problems to drive transformative change in effective and collaborative ways.
Last year, LGC launched The Daniel Burnham Fellowship – an accelerated civic onboarding experience for senior executives who in their roles are able to play a part in shaping the future of Chicago. While beneficial to any executive, it is especially beneficial for those who are new to Chicago and provides a rich introduction to an executive new to their role and with market facing responsibilities. The Fellowship is designed to inspire these leaders to mobilize and exert their combined influence and intellect to positively impact Chicago, its future, and the continued economic progress of the region. To date, nearly 50 C-suite executives have participated in this innovative leadership experience.
