Topic:
Barriers to Employment and Work-Place Advancement for Latinxs in Chicago
Co-hosts:
LFA Board Member Scarleth Lever Ortiz (Fellow since 2018)
Sylvia Garcia (Fellow since 2018)
Description:
Did you know the percentage of Latina Fortune 500 CEOs has dropped to 0% with the resignation of PG&E CEO Geisha Williams? What is the Latinx community’s representation in Chicago’s workforce overall and in leadership positions? Join us for an insightful conversation to explore the barriers preventing Latinxs from gainful employment and work-place advancement. This discussion will help identify ways in which LGC Fellows can help move the needle forward. You will also learn more about the newly created Leadership Action Network (LAN): LGC's Latinas Unidas Network Advancing Stronger (LUNAS) and how to get involved.
The Fellows Dine & Dialogue series is back! This intentional dining experience is designed to convene and connect Fellows across classes and sectors. We are excited to continue our well-received program with SIX dinners this winter — our largest series yet.
These intimate dinners are hosted by Fellows in their homes or other private venues across the city and suburbs. Each dinner consists of a group of 8-12 Fellows engaged in a conversation around a specific issue.
Seats for each dinner are limited and reserved on a first come, first served basis. A waiting list will be created for each dinner in the event of cancellations. To allow as many Fellows as possible to participate, we ask that you register for one dinner per series. You will receive a confirmation email shortly after registering, which will include the address of your dinner venue.
Questions? Contact Brittney Olgaard at brittney.olgaard@lgcchicago.org.
We look forward to convening with you!
