Join us for the launch of our 2022-23 LGC All Hands on Deck Leadership Series, themed Minding the Gap, on MONDAY, OCTOBER 24. The world has changed fundamentally — and perhaps permanently — over these past two years. The COVID-19 pandemic brought disparities in our society into sharper focus, but the reality of this inequality is not as simple as we may think. You are invited to learn firsthand about the socioeconomic gaps in Chicago that are less obvious but have significant consequences in shaping a healthier, inclusive and prosperous region for all Chicagoans.

This FREE, seven-part monthly series is designed to educate professionals from all sectors on a spectrum of socioeconomic issues impacting the region with an expectation to create an empowered community that will drive unity and positive change. In conjunction with award-winning journalists from WBEZ and the Chicago Sun-Times who are experts on the selected topics, the series features speakers ranging from CEOs and academicians to community builders, activists and government officials.

Thank you to our generous All Hands on Deck sponsors!

We will kick off this year’s series with an unplugged, virtual conversation about the ongoing revitalization of Chicago post pandemic. This discussion will be moderated by WBEZ Reporter MARIAH WOELFEL, who will introduce the series and set the stage of future conversations in the series. She will be joined in conversation by Daniel Burnham Fellows MICHAEL FASSNACHT, chief marketing officer for the City of Chicago and president and CEO of World Business Chicago, SAMIR MAYEKAR, deputy mayor of neighborhood and economic development for the City of Chicago, and LYNN OSMOND, president and CEO of Choose Chicago. These leaders will take us through the state of the city and our continued and important role as a global city. We will also explore post-COVID gaps that are most pressing in our city's comeback.

This series is FREE and will be held virtually via Zoom Webinar to provide a safe and accessible environment for all attendees. Occurring monthly from October 24, 2021–May 18, 2023 (excluding January), each session will be 90 minutes (12:00-1:30 p.m. CT) including an optional, post-program discussion. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in dialogue with speakers through Q&A and with each other.

In keeping with our tradition of unplugged conversations, sessions will not be available for anyone other than attendees, will not be publicly broadcast and will not be replayed on public media channels. Sessions will be recorded for archival purposes and provided to registrants only, following each session.

Each session will be captioned. If you require an accommodation to fully participate in the series, please contact the LGC Team at info@lgcchicago.org.
